Carlos Likely and his mother, Donna, traveled to WJXT-Channel 4 in Jacksonville, Florida on Wednesday, January 9, 2008 with representatives from Clinch County High to receive the "Smooth Move of the 2007 Season" Award from Tropical Smoothie.  Carlos made an incredible interception during the Charlton County game and that "move" was chosen by Internet voters.  Clinch County High School received a check for $3000 from Tropical Smoothie.

It's Official!!  Clinch 2004 Defense Makes the

National High School Record Book

The 2004 Panthers held opponents to just 117 yards rushing over 15 games -- that's .3 yards per carry and 7.8 yards per game-- to set a new national mark for fewest rushing yards allowed in a season.  The record is included in the 2006 National Federation of State High School Association's (NFHS) record book, now available for purchase.  To order, call 800-776-3462 or visit their website www.nfhs.org.  The Clinch record can be viewed on the website as well.

The previous record for yard rushing allowed in a season belonged to Rockcastle County High School in Mount Vernon, KY.  They held opponents to 184 yards rushing over 15 games in 2001.  Prior to that, the record was held by Helias High School of Jefferson City, MO, with 255 yards rushing allowed in 10 games.

The 2004 team tied for the state championship, 14-14 to Hawkinsville in Jim Dickerson's first year as head coach.
