Staff

 

The Fargo community believes that the key to a school's success is the quality of its administrator and teachers.  Dynamic, visionary personnel with strong instructional backgrounds and commitment to excellence in teaching and who are open to trying new and innovated instructional methods and are employed at Fargo Charter School.  All personnel are hired following recommendations from the administrator, the Planning Council, and the superintendent to the Board of Education. 

 

Personnel

    The Fargo community believes that all personnel of Fargo Charter School should be deeply committed to the students of Fargo Charter School and to the community as a whole.  Personnel must be willing to go beyond the call of duty to ensure the success of Fargo Charter School students, to accomplish the goals and objectives of Fargo Charter School, and to promote the mission and beliefs of Fargo Charter School.  Personnel should also be highly qualified individuals who exhibited positive attitudes and patient, which are indicative of a love for working with young children.  Based on these premises, a total of six personnel are employed at Fargo Charter School: one administrator/teacher (K-3 mathematics: K-3 science), one teacher (K-3 Language Arts; K-3 Social Studies), two paraprofessionals/bus drivers (one for grades K and 1; one for grades 2 and 3), one part-time cafeteria worker, and one part-time custodian. 

 

Evaluation

    To maintain high standards of professionalism and accountability, all Fargo Charter School personnel are evaluated on an annual basis.  Certified personnel are evaluated using the Georgia Teacher Evaluation Program (GTEP) and Georgia Teacher Duties and Responsibilities Instrument (GTDRI).  All other personnel are evaluated using the Clinch County School System support staff evaluation checklist.  The Clinch County School System superintendent evaluates the administrator of Fargo Charter School, whereas the principal evaluates the remaining personnel.  Members of the Fargo Planning Council are afforded the opportunity for input into the duties and responsibilities portion of each person's evaluation. 

 

Professional Development

    Continuous improvement and expansion of skills is necessary at adequately prepare students for life-long learning.  Fargo Charter School personnel participate in professional learning activities designed to meet professional growth needs as indicated on the annual school and system-wide needs assessments.
