Curriculum

    In addition to the Georgia Performance Standards and the Georgia Learning Connection, Fargo Charter School staff members utilize a prioritized curriculum, which was developed through the implementation of the system-wide school improvement plan, Learning-Focused.  Clinch County School System Learner Objectives, the Georgia Kindergarten Assessment Program-Revised, the Georgia Criterion-Referenced Competency Tests objectives, and the Iowa Tests of Basic Skills objectives are used by the Fargo Charter School staff as well.  This rigorous curriculum is delivered through a variety of instructional methods and materials designed to meet the needs set forth in each student's Individualized Plan.

 

Individualized Education Plan (IEP)

    An Individualized Education Plan is written for each student at Fargo Charter School to identify strengths and weaknesses and set individual goals for enhancing strengths and improving weaknesses.  Each IEP may include any or all of the following:

    1. curriculum and it's pacing for each skill area,

    2. skills and content areas to be emphasized,

    3. instructional strategies for addressing skills and content areas,

    4. grouping and regrouping with other students according to achievement levels,

    5. reorganization of the learning environment as necessary,

    6. acquiring and using supplement materials,

    7. maintaining periodic and frequent assessment of student progress,

    8. use of technology,

    9. demographic information,

    10. parental contacts,

    11. psychological evaluation results,

    12. hearing/vision screenings,

    13. teacher/staff observations,

    14. medical records,

    15. grade reports,

    16. anecdotal records,

    17. behavioral intervention plans,

    18. attendance records,

    19. academic background,

    20. current level of achievement,

    21. expectations to be achieved by the end of the school year,

    22. ITBS, CRCT, and GKAP-R results, and

    23. percentage of goals reached.

 

Students' Individualized Education Plans are developed by the parents and staff during parent/teacher conferences at the beginning of each school year, he/she must meet at least 75% of his/her IEP goals.
