Text Box: “The House That Love Built” is receiving a big helping hand from students and parents in Clinch County. This is the second year that we have participated in the“Pop Tab Program” to help The Ronald McDonald House of Central Georgia.   Students are bringing in the Tabs by the gallons! They are bringing them in by zip-lock baggies, jars, boxes, and even strung into necklaces and bracelets!   Mrs.Vanoy’s class has done their “homework” and has discovered that one pound of pop-tabs equals 1,279 Tabs!  Last year by this date we had 114  pounds, or  145,806  tabs. We have already exceeded that amount this year and have collected 131 pounds, or 167,549 tabs so far!   The Ronald McDonald Houses serves as “home away from home” for families of seriously ill or critically injured children receiving treatment in area hospitals. At these sites, families are offered a safe and comfortable place to stay, which keeps them near their children during what can be a frightening and stressful time.  Tevin Harris' family was able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House during his illness and Ms. Lisa Landrum's family also benefitted when Marin was born prematurely.   We encourage you to share this campaign with your neighbors, friends and co-workers. Just bring all pop tabs to our school to make sure they are added to the grand total.   If you have a question, please call your contact person at CCES, or the Ronald McDonald House.
